Internationaler Kompositions-wettbewerb für Mandoline
Da die Mandoline von den Landesmusikräten zum Instrument des Jahres 2023 gekürt wurde, schreibt der Verlag edition49 einen Internationalen Kompositionswettbewerb für Mandoline mit Preisen von bis zu 8.000 € aus. Darüber hinaus vergibt der Verein Humperdinckfreunde Siegburg e.V. einen Sonderpreis in Höhe von 250 €.

- Internationale Jury
Stilistische oder Besetzungsvorgaben gibt es keine. Es können also Werke für Solo-Mandoline, Duos, Trios, Mandoline in einer Band oder Orchester mit Mandoline eingereicht werden. Wie oder welche Mandolinenart (z. B. klassisch, Bluegrass, elektronisch) gespielt wird, ist frei. Die Komponist*innen sind frei, ob sie ein ein- oder mehrsätziges Werk einreichen möchten. Ebenfalls frei ist die Art der weiter verwendeten Instrumente (z.B. Tin Whistle oder Duduk). Einzige Bedingung ist, dass die Mandoline als Instrument in der Komposition vorhanden sein muss.
Komponisten wie Antonio Vivaldi, Gustav Mahler, Giuseppe Verdi, Arnold Schönberg, Frank Zappa, REM etc. haben Musik für Mandoline geschrieben.

Since the mandolin was voted instrument of the year 2023 by the state music councils, the publisher edition49 is announcing an international composition competition for mandolin with prizes of up to 8,000 €. In addition, the Humperdinckfreunde Siegburg e.V. association will award a special prize of 250 €.

- International Jury
There are no stylistic or cast requirements. Works for solo mandolin, duos, trios, mandolin in a band or orchestra with mandolin can be submitted. How or what type of mandolin (e.g. classical, bluegrass, electronic) is played is free. The composers are free to submit a one-movement or multi-movement work. The type of instruments to be used (e.g. tin whistle or duduk) is also free.
